    Mngqithi new Chippa coach

Chippa United was only founded two years ago and has achieved the huge leap to the Premier League for the coming season. They were promoted after a recent playoff and will, no doubt, be signing big talent in the coming weeks.

Manqoba Mngqithi has been signed for a one year contract as head coach of the up and coming side. His previous appointments include Golden Arrows and AmaZulu.

Interestingly, he has been signed to replace Roger Sikhakane – the man who lead the Cape side to promotion. The Chilli Boys have a long road ahead but are gaining more fans on a daily basis.

    Park joins QPR

We have told our Twitter followers a while back – watch English premier league side Queens Park Rangers this season! Keen fans will have noticed that QPR is putting together a formidable lineup and we tip them to put in a fighting performance in the upcoming season.

The latest player to join QPR is Park Ji-Sung from Manchester United. He will have gained valuable understanding and experience while playing under Sir Alex Ferguson. QPR’s manager, himself a former player for Man U, Mark Hughes, believes Park’s transfer is a huge coup for the side he manages.

Park has won four Premier League titles with Man U and made over 100 international appearances for his home country of South Korea.

Watch closely for further QPR transfers – this team is going places!

    Chippa United promoted

Chippa United is a wildly popular side in their home base of the Cape Flats. It has taken just two seasons for club owner, Chippa Mpengesi, to achieve his dream of fielding a side in the local premier league, known as the Premier Soccer League.

The Cape side won promotion to the PSL with an excellent victory over Santos 4-3 at the Philippi Stadium on Saturday, 30 June 2012.

Santos have unfortunately now been relegated to the First Division.

    New coach for Bafana Bafana

Gordon Igesund has confirmed as the new coach of the South African national football side.

The 55-year-old coach, cut his teeth as player-coach at Witbank Black Aces during the 1986 season and he is known for making practical decisions. When he arrived at Moroka Swallows early in 2011, he quickly signed new players to deal with perceived weaknesses in that side, saving them from relegation.

He has also coached at Ajax Cape Town and Mamelodi Sundowns with great success and later at Free State Stars with far less success.

He has won four league titles with four different clubs, which makes him the most successful coach in local soccer. We say it is about time that he is given the opportunity to coach the national side and we wish him every success.
